Red-shirt key supporter Darunee Kritbunyalai on Monday filed a defamation suit against a woman who shouted at her, accusing her of defaming the royal institute, while she was having dinner at a luxury Bangkok shopping complex.

The suit was lodged with the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) by the 63-year-old socialite and former fugitive red shirt core member who is facing a charge of violating the emergency decree announced to control the 2010 political riots.

Mrs Darunee told police that she was having a meal with her personal secretary at a beef noodle shop on the fourth floor of Siam Paragon in the Pathumwan area on Friday, Aug 31, at about 7pm when an unidentified woman approached her and reviled her angrily and loudly, asking why she had reproached the highest institution.

Robin Grant [Dis 18] I agree. Wonderful what money and cosmetics can do.

I also found this amusing. Particularly the part about wanting to sue a mystery woman. How will that work ? Maybe find a police superintendent who grabs a socialite's servant ?

The fight back by the ordinary Thai , has to start somewhere , doesn`t it , more Thais should stand up for their rights , just like her , speak-out , demand answers and accoutability and do not accept this selfserving taxsin/yingluck/ptp "sham of a government" and the Bro`masters ultimate goal and agenda ?

So far the anti red brigade have had the field to themselves on this one, and I must admit that the comments so far have provided me with some of the best entertainment, and biggest laughs, I've had in years. I especially liked whatajoke's astonishment that there could be such a thing as a socialite red shirt! Clearly he's not an expert on this movement, he needs to do a bit more research.

If any of these posters had actually read and understood the article, they would have noted that Darunee's outrage may well have been triggered by the very sensitive, and groundless, accusations being thrown at her.

Anyway, news reports such as this are a God send to those such as us posters, who clearly have too much spare time on our hands, and for what it's worth I think that, for a 63 year old, Darunee, irrespective of her politics, is absolutely gorgeous. I'd be a fervent admirer even if she was a dyed-in-the-wool yellow shirt
