Pheu Thai wants new truth panel

The Pheu Thai Party wants the government to set up a new fact-finding commission on the political violence and crackdown of 2010, deputy spokesman Jirayu Huangsap said on Saturday.

Mr Jirayu said relatives of the red-shirt protesters killed and injured in the April and May 2010 events were unhappy with the report released last week by the Truth for Reconciliation Committee (TRC).He said Pheu Thai MPs for more than 20 provinces in the North, Northeast and Central plains reported receiving complaints from red-shirts’ relatives that the TRC report was biased. They were unhappy that the report placed heavy emphasis on the actions of the shadowy "men in black" and their links to the red shirts' United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), said Mr Jirayu. The TRC report has won support in other quarters for its conclusion that both the UDD and the Democrat-led government of the day had to accept responsibility for the way events played out.The relatives wanted to send as many as 10,000 representatives to Bangkok to ask the TRC and the National Human Rights Committee to produce facts on the 2010 events, said Mr...

I think you're wrong about 'everyone' being able to see your 'truth', though I agree with the description 'sad'. If everybody agreed with you they would have voted the Dems in by a landslide but that didn't happen, not even in Bangkok.

As usual; hilarious and stupid demands from red Tida....let her have the new panel and I propose Arisman as chairman....he can ask his followers to bring another one million bottles of gasoline if his report is not blood red tainted!

The earlier the TRC is replaced, the more truth on the inhumane crackdown against protestors in 2010 will be disclosed.

Excuse me? Two days ago, Yingluck the (pretend) Prime Minister said Peua Thai would respect the report's findings.
It seems as though Peua Thai were convinced they would walk away blameless. When that didn't happen, they spat the dummy out.

"Mr Jirayu also called on Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva to refrain from making comments on the TRC report because as the prime minister serving in 2010, he had the most to gain or lose from it."

Mr. Jirayu needs to learn that in a democracy everyone has the right to speak and voice their opinions. Not just Red Shirts.

Totally Pathetic ,sad ,simple, like a third grade child's tantrum.!
The Yingluck Government/Pheu Thai Party supported the truth panel ..it was independant..the fools..now they want one they can corrupt..this is the lowest of the low ..Prime Minister..!
I feel truely sorry for you in having to suffer these oafs and fools with their online degrees.
But then your brother showed the way ..change the rules to suit yourslf!.

If the panel is International and obviously neutral, no side can argue with that for fairness.

If they were afraid of impartiality..they should have dissolved the panel and set one up right away when they won the elections instead of waiting for the results (and wasting my tax money)

now its just obvious that either a) they don't know how to plan ahead or b) they don't like the results

Either way, Im footing the bill and its sucks. Id rather take my money to set up an education fund
