Poll: Majority agree with TRC report

A majority of people agree with the complete report of Truth for Reconciliation Commission (TRC) on the 2010 riots and believe it can be used to restore unity in the country, according to the results of a Suan Dusit Poll revealed on Sunday.

The poll was conducted between Sept 18-22 on 1,084 people in Bangkok and nearby provinces.

The majority, or 53.70%, said they agreed with the report because the TRC had spent a considerable period of time to conduct studies on information, evidence and witnesses concerning what happened during the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship's (UDD) protests in April-May 2010.

Don't polls have to account for at least 3% of the city's population for it to be legit? So are all of these Dusit polls that Bangkok Post's whole newspaper relies on completely useless?

@domdunnn. Asked you before 'What majority ?' Yes, those 40 % who could be bothered/paid to vote for Thaksin/PTP. Ever heard of 'the silent majority ?'

Great leaders unite a country: Thaksin has done nothing but divide this country for his own greedy and megalomania.

Which part did they not like? Report said soldiers are responsible for some of the the protesters death. Not happy with the finding? It also said red shirts were violent and responsible for some of the chaos. Oh wait, the TRC report must be totally wrong, red shirts must have been law abiding angels saving bangkok from destruction.

#15; When you write "It's just my opinion, but I'm right.", you truly speak and think like a redshirt.... LOL

Disc7 DomDunn "Dubious poll. 1084 people in "Bangkok and nearby provinces", not really worth the paper its printed on."

You didn't like the poll? I'm astounded. Imagine a dyed-in-the-wool red supporter like you dismissing a poll that showed Peua Thai in anything other than a positive light.

The problem here is that PT have no desire whatsoever to 'reconcile' with anybody. This is what makes it such a farce.

The issue is all tied up with their own political agenda which is to pressure the Dems into agreeing some form of amnesty so that TS can come back, recover his money and return to the power he so desperately craves.

They don't care about anything else : the truth, the law and right+wrong are totally unimportant. They will circumvent them wherever possible.

My only question is whether the majority of the red-shirts are too stupid to realise this - or they do realise and they support it.

Either way the government is being run behind a tissue of lies.

The TRC report rightly pointed out the fugitive as the root-cause to the problem and that he must be punished. The Puea Thaksin regime and their redshirt mob will of course not support that justice is upheld.

"the brainwashed from the red villages or your living world of the ricefields are so much better???? At least the people from BKK have an OPINION, not blindly gullible like too many in this country"""

D13, I am shocked to see you say that, when in the next sentence after you said " your remark about Bangkok and nearby provinces "not really worth the paper its printed on" is disrespectful and not really intelligent"""
You are really showcasing the arrogant attitude of the Bangkok People towards their fellow Thais which is the REAL decisive problem here. Pardon me, but your misguided feelings that your education, high income, lifestyle, and surroundings is showing.

It's just my opinion, but I'm right.
