CSD stand-off erupts in violence

Red-yellow tension seen escalating, unity elusive

Confrontations between the red- and yellow-shirt groups are likely to intensify after yesterday's clash outside the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) left scores of people from both sides injured.

Yellow- and red-shirt supporters throw objects at each other and trade blows in a clash outside the Crime Suppression Division office on Phahon Yothin Road. The yellow shirts turned up to support a woman summoned for questioning over the alleged harassment of red-shirt activist Darunee Kritbunyalai. SURAPOL PROMSAKA NA SAKOLNAKORN

The clash erupted around noon during a stand-off between red shirts and yellow shirts who had gathered outside the CSD.

This really not the time to side colors. If we are really Thais or love Thailand, we got to made a common stand and condemnation if either sides and other color groups resort to violence. Politics is divisive and all can agree to disagree and the constitution permits peaceful protest and demonstration but should any group step out of line, society must converge and made their voices heard that we don't tolerate violent acts.

Finally there is not future with the both (UDD & PAD) groups. Reconciliation is a dream...
The kindergarden battles should not disturb the processus of democracy which is a serious matter.
The government has only the way to ask to the Supreme Court to prohibit PAD and UDD to exercice.

Discussion 45. Dao unfortunately that is how the vast majority of reds on this forum see things. If you criticize Thaksin or the reds then you are automatically a yellow shirt. They only see things in a red or yellow world and don't realise that the majority of people are sick of both colours.

The police needs to immediately arrest anyone who causes public nuisance and are out to incite violence from both the red and yellow party. Just standing by until accidents happen is all too late.

I'm not sure what sort of action termsak (D47) envisages, or is hoping for, but the saying which springs to mind is "be careful what you wish for"

Such unpleadant, intemperate, hostile and confrontational language solves nothing, and is indeed the last thing that is needed at a time when the Thai people struggle to adjust to a changing social and political environment.

The red terrorists has been asking for this since they set the precedent with the riots of 2009 and 2010. They are terrible wrong if they think they have sole right to terrorize people.

This is just a small taste of things to come. The silent majority is rising up and will get rid of these red paid clueless hillbillies. Hopefully all the red skirts will be kicked out of Bangkok. The politicians next. Yingluck will be lucky to even perform a public speech in Bangkok

Please dont confuse the dislike for red shirts in this forum with being yellow .Thaksin is dishonest and self interested causing widespread unrest .Most readers of Bangkok Post just use their common sense and see that and arent blinded by his vote buying handouts disguised as populist schemes .I would never wear a colored shirt to support any political cause .
