Plodprasop blasts BMA over sandbags

Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Surasawadi said on Monday he would set up a committee to investigate the Bangkok city administration for stuffing sandbags into the drainage system on Srinakarin Road in disobedience of the instructions of the Water and Flood Management Commission (WFMC).

Mr Plodprasop, as WFMC chairman, said he had three questions for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to answer:

1. What kind of water management is stuffing sandbags in the drains?
2. Who ordered  BMA workers to put sandbags in the sewers, and why this was done while storms were on the way?
3. Where else has the BMA stuffed sandbags in the drains?

BMA actually got a strategy, the regime does not have a clue and we can see the result in the flooded provinces.

"BMA spokesman Wasan Meewong said yesterday the sandbags would prevent the water from Hua Mak canal from flowing into the sewers, which could subsequently flood Srinakarin Road."
What is the purpose of the drainage system? The issue here is BMA disobeyed the instructions of the Water and Flood Management Commission (WFMC).

Yawn.... Yet another committee... Wake me up when there are 65 million of those.
If there were enough capable people to sit on those committees, it could be an idea to appoint those people in relevant positions. Or better: consider spending the money now going down the drain (spent on those committees) to actually SOLVE problems.

A noble advice for the science minister.
Run for the governor election in Bangkok and if you win you can manage it all by yourself. What about the other povinces that are flooded ?
