POLITICALLY-CHARGED RALLY SLAMS GOVT

The Democrat Party held an emotional rally in Lumpini Park yesterday to condemn the government and provide its version of the military crackdown against red shirt protesters in 2010 when it was in power.

Party members attempted to shed light on the mysterious men in black who had been linked to the red shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship ( UDD) and who were believed by some to have attacked security forces and killed people during the 2010 political violence.

The Democrats on Friday staged a "men in black" caravan to highlight the involvement of the armed men in the 2010 red shirt rallies.

You have to feel sorry for khunbj d.31. So many people disagree with him he gets ticked off (thanks Pete), spits the dummy and calls them sheep.

Newsflash! The majority of people participating in this forum, possibly educated, observant, critical thinking commentators who live in Thailand, have valid opinions that cannot be negated by spurious nonsense.

It is shameless and ignorant how many comments deny the FACTS.
But verybody with an open mind can see the truth.
It would be interesting to see the red-shirt leaders questioned live on TV about their speeches they gave
on their rallies in 2010. But, they are MPs and have immunity and impunity.
You cannot fool all the people all the time.

In 1992 under the Suchinda "rule" it were the motorcycle gangs who were blamed for triggering the banglamphu shooting spree,20 years on and after a bloody deja Vu , men in black are to blame.
How about Thai reading Thai and admit that the proces of democraty is beyond ego and corruption, thus spurs ordinairy disregarded out classed Thai's in the last resort....bloodshed.

The answers to the questions for what happen do exist. People on all sides of the issue know who did what. Statements need to be taken under oath and when somebody is discovered to be untruthful, they need to be prosecuted and jailed. The "men in black" did not magically appear and disappear. Who gave the orders for all phases of the crack down is known to somebody. All this delayed investigative effort only serves to allow those responsible for any crimes that were committed to avoid being held responsible through the passing of time. There are known facts about much of the turmoil that started with the coup in 2006, but virtually none of those people responsible have been held accountable.

Talk is cheap from all. If a reward was to be offered for each name..say! one million baht reward for each name. Then arrest and the truth could be found out! As 'BP' have the guts to start the campaign? I'm sure they have the money, or would there be another reason to to do it?

He said relatives of the dead soldiers received only 400,000 baht in compensation while the red shirts were getting seven million baht.

That is one thing that should without delay be put right...Equal rights for all, knowing that the soldiers were there on behalf of the government, no choice! Reds were there on the own choice!

Rewriting history, manipulating facts and escaping responsibilities has become a 'democrats' trademark. Since their shameful accusations against Pridi Banomyong in 1947, they have supported every single military coup and authoritarian regime in this country. This being said, I believe PT would have done exactly the same had they been in the dem's shoes. In Thailand, there is only one looser in the political game: the People.

Discussion 31. Khunbj. You call the people on here sheep but you lap up everything said by the reds. Comparing WMD'S to the men in black is 2 completely different situations and if you can't see that then there is no hope for you.
One final question who killed Col Romklao?

  • Discussion 36 : 14 Oct 2012 at 12.3536

robingrant D32 : incorrect. I never said all deaths were from MIB and that's a fact. Did your red tinted glasses make you read that from my comment? TS did make video call in's supporting and calling on red shirts to make the riots, that's another fact. Red shirt leaders did call on their supporters to burn and kill, another fact. Soldiers and civilians were killed by MIB and that is absolute fact. Can you deny this?
