To make modest wire transfers to Singapore I need to provide a passport and WP copy every time-but heh that's my fault for being a farang.

Where money and transfers from Thailand are concerned, don't hold your breath. The clever crooks have many ways to cheat us who do not have access to such sums.

    T: Just calculating.
46 Billion - 16 Billion Baht = 30 Billion Baht more to come.
This is also a way to get my money back. Right ???

Does anyone seriously expect to find out who, where what etc?
Bear in mind the 2003 case where it was alleged that Nishimatsu of Japan and Thai associates ITDP paid 3.6 billion dollars to officials of BMA to win a 77.5 billion dollar drainage tunnel contact is still under investigation.

The Governor of BMA at the time was also implicated in the fire tender procurement that was alleged to involve corruption

Unfortunately the key witness, being the Governor, Samal Sundarejev is no longer with us. So set up a Committee to investigate Yingluck - no rush.

Maybe "men in black" were involved in bringing the money to Hong Kong? I'm sure many people will believe it if the Democrats throw it out there too.

I predict that this news item will not be covered on the red channel on TV.
Furthermore, absolutely nothing will be done to identify who stole the 16 billion baht.
    Thaksinomics at it's best.

These 16 BILLION, are only the top of the iceberg...wondering how many hundreds or thousands billions are shipped out to the new elite of the North and their cronies ' foreign bank accounts???????

  • Discussion 3 : 14 Oct 2012 at 09.043

    Agree with DS # 2.
PM Yingluck will not follow up on investigating this because it'll incriminate the people her brother appointed and bring about biblical loss of face for PT.

16 Billion! One would think that to be a misprint. How come the Thai bank(s) did not bat an eyelid when asked to transfer such a large sum, unless they colluded? Easy enough to follow the sources, but the minnows never seem to lead you to the bigger fish. They’re far too clever when it comes to money. Also, asking the PM to probe the matter is probably not in the country’s best interest.
