Many red-shirt people were unhappy that their co-leader Jatuporn Prompan was not given a ministerial position during the snap cabinet reshuffle, Pheu Thai MP for Surin Prasit Chaisrisa said on Thursday.
Pol Sgt Maj Prasit, a key member of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), said red-shirts wanted Mr Jatuporn to be made a cabinet member because he was a key leader in rallying for true democracy.
As a consequence of that, Mr Jatuporn faced many criminal charges, he added.
“The red-shirts are disappointed, unhappy and cannot accept the new cabinet lineup,” he said.
Some people had done nothing to earn their new portfolios. Mr Jatuporn should be given such a chance, he said.
He hoped the ruling Pheu Thai Party would soon provide a clear explanation to the red-shirts why Mr Jatuporn was not given a ministerial post.
