Nattawut: Rally a prelude to a coup

Last Sunday's rally by the Pitak Siam Group led by Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit is a sign of another coup in the making, Deputy Commerce Minister Nattawut Saikuar said on Tuesday.

Mr Nattawut, a core member of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), called for the people to come out and show a stand against the Pitak Siam group.

He believed "a movement to topple the government" would continue to go on the offensive by lodging a petition with various agencies for a ruling to put the administration in disarray.

Nattawut is a clever man, just the mere mention of the word 'coup' (and the timely appearance of one crackpot general expressing personal opinion on stage) and you have all the forum members in Bangkok Post up in arms discussing the next coup as if it's fait accompli. All you need to know is that the another coup is unlikely to happen unless those in power really abuse their power, which I wouldn't rule out in this country at present.

A judicial coup and then what? Change the constitution? Done it. Pack the Senate with their cronies? Done it.

The PTP will reform under a new name and win the next election just like last time. The old powers are going to have to come up with something very creative this time.

'Mr Nattawut, a core member of the UDD called for the people to come out and show a stand against the Pitak Siam group'

Then...'He also rejected Mr Kwanchai's threat to bring red-shirts to Bangkok...'

Is trying to make to be their leader ? No doubt he thinks he should be as 1 of the new elite with declared assets of 68 million baht.

It will be interesting to see what type of coup is used to remove the government. Most likely judicial.

What an intellect Wattanut has , because some people don't like what his Gov does he thinks this sentiment must lead to a coup and so he will insist the Gov block all such demonstrations in the name of democracy.

Who shall i believe, army chief or nattawut? If the government is doing nothing wrong, there will be no coup. If the red shirt stop threatening Thai people, there will be no coup. If no mop against mop, there will be no coup.

Some thing needs to happen soon but a coup is not the answer.People power can do it however part of the problem is the apathy of the average Thai. There also seemed to be a lack of TV coverage on the Rally. If you are to be successfully in stopping some of the government's bad decisions you will need media coverage and at present I do not see that happening.

If we are honest the government must be allowed to run its term unless enough MPs pass a vote of no confidence. But why would they do that and erode there income! You have made your bed you must lay in it for the time being anyway. Rome was not built in a day.Continue with peaceful demonstrations and continue to show solidarity and I am sure you will eventually have success.

Nattawut = coup monger. He knows very well that a coup would strengthen the PT, at a time their support is dwindling for the obvious reasons. Nothing would be better for the PT than another coup, as they would win the following general elections by a landslide, whereas right now, they are slowly but steadily losing their momentum.

Nattawut should be in jail together with Jatuporn and many other violent red-shirts. When will the courts handle their cases?
