Thaksin in Myanmar early November

Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is scheduled to visit Myanmar in the second week of November, his legal adviser Noppadon Pattama confirmed on Thursday.

The trip would not be on Nov 10-11, as was reported by some media, he said.

During the visit, Thaksin will meet important people in the Burmese government and Thai people who come to visit him at Myanmar's Tachilek township, opposite Thailand's Chiang Rai province, he added.

If Thailand has not got an extradition treaty why hasn't it got one?

Mr. FM Surapong (newly sworn in cabinet member) knows now where to find Mr. Fugitive.
Dont make any excuses not to arrest him for 4 pending cases in court.
Otherwise this is negligence of duty which could impeach him.

In 1 year Thailand will be part of the ASEAN economic partnership with Burma. If anyone wants a glimpse at how meaningless this partnership will be, consider that Thailand's most notorious criminal fugitive is being offered safe haven in a neighboring ASEAN nation. This same neighboring nation has a growing Opium trade which exports to Thailand.

It is quite clear that Myanmar will continue to pursue self-interested policies which show zero respect for Thai law. This does not bode well for ASEAN, or Thailand.

There is either a policy of extradition, or one must seriously discount the degree of cooperation to be expected under the c

Wake up boys and girls. Thaksin may be a fugitive and a convicted felon but he is not stupid. Thailand does not have extradition treaties with any of the countries he visits or lives in and I'm sure he is well aware of the ones that do. This works out for both sides. He can't be brought back legally from these places and the government really doesn't want him back here as long as he doesn't have immunity. Do you really think they (the PTP) are going to put this man in front of a judge and watch him sentenced to prison, not going to happen folks!

Look at me , look at me, look at meeeeee.

It is kind of pathetic don't you think. The only plausible reason for this showboating trip is to make the new cabinet members kowtow just to show the prai that he, and not little sis, is the boss.

Legal advisor Noppadon really I am never sure on the reason why we get the statements from him

Is it to really to show that Thaksin is around & working for the good of Thailand

    or

Just to make trouble with in Thailand

Sadly I think its just to make trouble

Yet another stunt by Thaksin & Co. in place of where real policy and solutions should be. And of course, Thakinphiles will line up to see "dear leader," completely obvious to the fact that these bread & circus shows are distractions/diversions from the fact that real progress is not and will not be made.

Then get him extradited and stop the whole farce. If the law will not do that then throw away the law book its useless retire all the judges.

Now Thailand has the information when and where they can find and arrest the fugitive criminal – go for it!
