Chiang Mai reds heading for Tachilek

About 5,000 red shirts of the Rak Chiang Mai 51 Group will travel across the border to Tachilek, Myanmar on Friday night to meet former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, group leader Phetcharawat Wattanapongsirikul said on Sunday.

Mr Phetcharawat said the Chiang Mai reds would leave on the night of Nov 9 on about 100 buses from Mae Sai to see Thaksin at a hotel in Tachilek on the following day.

The expenses would be met by the group's central fund.

The group was preparing a border pass for its members, he said.
