Poll: Rally won't lead to a coup

A plurality of people agree the planned next rally by the Pitak Siam Group and its networks will lead not to a coup, and a majority also do not think the government can be pressured into resigning, according the results of a poll conducted by the National Institute for Development Administration, or Nida Poll, released on Monday.

The pollster surveyed 1,245 people throughout the country for their opinions about the Pitak Siam Group and the chance of the government being ousted on Oct 31 and Nov 1.

The largest single group of respondents, 42.25%, did not think the rally would lead to a coup because not enought people would take part in it, while 20.40% thought it could lead to that and 37.35% were uncertain.

When those entrusted to law enforcement are failing in there job for what ever reason I am afraid things will not change.

I cheered when the soldiers came to Bangkok in 2006 to get rid of the corrupt Shinawatra government. Unfortunately the military did not finish the job so that the ousted PM could come back to power.
I don’t think another coup will change anything. On the long run only educated people will vote for educated politicians who are honestly interested in improving Thailand and life for all Thais. And in the moment I don’t see the slightest indicator that anybody in Thai politics is really interested to educate the masses - sad but true.

The rally will not lead to a coup, but the governments blatant disregard for the rule of law eventually will.

Another Coup is a total waist of time and even if there was one what wills it being us apart from more problems or even a war which is not the Thai way ever so some would like to see this happen

You need to fix the problem before you move on

Wail 2/3 of Thailand as a whole are not red shirts ½ of the population are red shirts as they live in the North and this is why Thaksin look after them he knows this will keep him in power

The North has a good point that why is it so far behind the rest of Thailand sadly there real interested have be hijacked by MP’s who are looking out for them self’s and the real point of making the Nor
