Ex-senator targets Abhisit's MP status

Court ruling sought in draft dodging row

Former senator Ruangkrai Leekijwattana plans to request a court ruling on whether Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has lost his MP status after being stripped of his military rank.

Mr Ruangkrai said the Defence Ministry's ruling to retroactively dismiss Mr Abhisit from military service for draft-dodging took effect from June 2, 1988.

The dismissal was a form of disciplinary action, Mr Ruangkrai said.

    @Bluebkk.
    The most honest PM ever!
    Gutter style persecution!
    Only red villagers and gullable sympathisers!
    So are you saying that the majority of Thai people who want this government,because they disagree with you,are beneath you in their decisions.
    How do you base your statement that this man is the most honest ex PM ever in Thailand.
    I think you are very mistaken or ignorant of many facts or arrogent to the degree that your personal bias against the majority of people in this country smacks of a baby throwing his toy out of his cot.

    Disc 26 - Thanks for the interesting but disgusting PM. I have utter contempt for what you said, what you are and what you stand for. Did I use "Contempt" correctly in that statement?

    Discussion 35/36,
    I did not finish my previous comment. You wrote "how can you forgive someone explaining that he did nothing wrong, being just victim of a plot?"
    Thaksin and all his vassals and cronies say that the fugitive convicted criminal did nothing wrong and the puppet government do believe they not only want to forgive him but to whitewash his crimes.

    May I remind peterd that when the PAD took over the government house, the them PM Samak lived with the military because he was afraid. Your remark "how can you forgive someone explaining that he did nothing wrong, being just victim of a plot?"

    If it's true that "the fake documents are a fact as confirmed by an army investigation",then the question should be if Abhisit knew it was fake when given to him and if he had any involvement of the act of faking these documents. So far,this hasn't even been brought up for consideration because of the urgency of Thaksin/PTP to get rid of Abhisit before the no-confidence motion begins.

    @peterd, d37.

    Please try to keep up, before you ridicule others and embarass yourself. Defence minister ACM Sukumpol, who is responsible for stripping AV of his rank, is a close friend and former classmate of Thaksin, he has a grudge against the coup makers, and has been given the position by the PTP. Who's side do you think he is on? Google his name if you are in doubt about his history!

    This gutter style low class persecution of Thailands most honest PM ever is an eye opener for the country to see through the scam of Dubai steered so -called " Reconciliation" Thaksin's reconciliation simply means revenge and -above all- getting his ill gotten billions back.....Only red villagers and gullible sympathizers cannot see through this scandalous propaganda!

    Abbub (#23), ok for your "what a joke" but read #25 to really laugh... We learn there that the AV's worst enemies are (the PTP and) the MILITARY. I remember he lived with the 11th regiment some time ago. Maybe the military changed of mind when he saw that it have to take all the responsibility for the events of 2010...

    #1, sure you have good heart but how can you forgive someone explaining that he did nothing wrong, being just victim of a plot?

    goodheart D32

    Time for him to go.
    I agree Thai democracy needs a strong opposition and I don't think AV is up to the job. His opposition is limited to attacking the government, he fails to spell out an alternative vision for the country and as a result his approval ratings remain about half of Yingluck's, the voters just don't get him.
    It is noticeable that apart from Democrat Party stalwarts very few people are speaking out in support, the army are tight lipped and the English language media is being neutral. I think the writing is on the wall for AV.
