PAD cancels events, supports Pitak Siam

The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) has cancelled its political activities for the weekend of Nov 24-25 to allow its supporters to join the anti-government rally planned by the Pitak Siam group.

Maj-Gen Chamlong Srimuang, a PAD core leader, said Monday PAD leaders will not take part in the Pitak Siam rally, but will give it moral support.

Rank and file supporters could take part at their own discretion, as is their right under the constitution.

Y can't all us Thais, think about reconciliation by not attending anymore of this protests.. Look at this way, if u topple this government, the red shirts will come out, and then for the next government the yellows will come out. It will go on forever. That will let the country down! Just wait for the next election, vote for who u like, whoever wins take it. End of story, wait for next 4 years and do the same thing.

Pitak Siam's stated aim is an illegal overthrow of the government, either by military or judicial, then to lock down Thailand for 5 years. For the PAD and the Democrats to countenance that ideology would be sheer lunacy. The economic losses would make last years floods pale into insignificance.

To avoid any disgrace in the history, it is advised that the government to step down instead of facing the oncoming consequence.

#5, the propaganda works pretty well (in the 2 camps) but the facts are there. reading the official statistics since 10 years, the indice of corruption near the same and put Thailand in the low middle of the corrupted nations. The better years were 2004/2005/2006. And if you read the BP today, you will see that the corruption is not dogmatic and every politician has to buy a broom to clean his/her door.

" an estimated 20,000 people, according to organisers. Police, however, put the figure at closer to 7,000."
Were there no reporters there? No independent observers?

AV and Co could not win anyway because no matter what the majority will vote for the government. The rank and file that the defense minister approved to strip from AV was a petty stuff, AV never use it anyway. They should pay more attention to Se Ai up coming demonstration. People do fed up with this government, grafts and corruptions run deep, people dying everyday in the south, high price on consumer goods, nepotism is so obvious and got people to work in their wrong discipline. Yes, PM Yingluck is pretty, that is all there is folk!

As long as the military stay out, the demonstration is futile. Even if the government is pressured and decide to hold an early election now, there really has no credible and serious challengers. Oppositions parties especially the biggest Dem Party should start to woo voters and be serious to challenge the government than containing playing politics. As for the demonstrators, they have the right but the leaders should not use this as a disguise to involve 3rd party trouble makers to instigate uncontrollable chaos.
