Court asked to stop Seh Ai's rally

The Pheu Thai Party on Thursday requested the Constitution Court to order a halt to the planned Nov 24 anti-government rally by the Pitak Siam group.

The request was made in a letter submitted by Singthong Buachun, a Pheu Thai member, who was accompanied by party lawyer Picha Wijitsin.

Mr Singthong said the planned rally was an offence under Section 68 of the constitution since it was intended to topple a democratically elected government under led by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

And Pheu Thai says it supports democracy? In what real democracy are people not allowed to hold a peaceful demonstration against the government?

P.T. had no problem with the red shirts/UDD illegally occupying Ratchaprasong for extended months and creating chaos in Bangkok. Many P.T. M.P.s were part of that. But when a group who opposes them wants to have a peaceful rally for a day (maybe 2) they don't want to allow this simple democratic right. So far they've talked about invoking special laws and using the courts to prevent what they claim they fought for...democratic rights. It becomes clearer and clearer each day. So called rights and laws only apply if you are a red shirt/UDD member. Double Standards!!
