Abhisit has 10 days to clear himself

Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat has given Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva 10 days to submit evidence to confirm he had not evaded military conscription and had followed all legal procedures to be registered and appointed an officer in the military service, a source said.

The source said this was stated in an official letter, dated Nov 16, from ACM Sukumpol to Mr Abhisit who last week sent a letter to him asking for justice.

ACM Sukumpol earlier signed an order to remove Mr Abhisit's rank of sub-lieutenant and recall his salary and other benefits for using falsified documents to evade conscription and apply for a teaching job at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy.

D35: The AEC did not strip the ill-gotten gains of your hero. It made a recommendation for the Court's deliberation and subsequent decision. Please stick to the facts.

The whole reason this has been dealt with by an ad hoc committee is precisely for the reason of avoiding the need to prove guilt. If this were put in front on a court, it would be thrown out within minutes.

"For now, the object is to remove the rank and the salary if indue." He doesn't have any military rank! And he did the job, so he got the pay. You can no more remove a rank someone once had that you can remove the rank I once held. It ends the moment you are discharged.

"ACM Sukumpol said he signed the order to strip Mr Abhisit of his rank as recommended by an investigation committee of the Defence Ministry"

Strip of rank not by evidence but by recommendation of the Defence Ministry who is under the control of the PTP.

Where do you get the idea that this is about a missing document? The army has the document and have already stated that it is a forgery and punished the officers involved.

The question at issue is did Abhisit KNOW that the document was forged or was it done without his knowledge. The army says he was innocent but the facts are unclear.

Please tell me. What ever became of the Dem MP Khanchit Thapsuwan? Was he ever charged for murdering the man in the toilet? Or did his corrupt friends get him a waiver?

The contradiction of some posters is flagrant. For now, the object is to remove the rank and the salary if indue. And if he lost a paper - can be after 20 years - the military archives have a double. Just see if he has asked the double.

"Mr Abhisit later told the panel one day before the appointed date that he had to go to Hong Kong to deliver a speech on the problems of populist policies on that day." - BangkokPost, Nov 8, 2012

"Mr Abhisit said he did not have a chance to tell his side of the story when the committee wrapped up the probe and ruled to strip him of his rank...Mr Chavanont said Mr Abhisit had evidence to confirm that he had never falsified or used fake documents to apply for a teaching job at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy -- the job that exempted him from military conscription in 1987." - BangkokPost, Nov 12, 2012

AV evaded from miliary conscription 25 years ago. AV evaded from answering the military disciplinary panel against his draft-dodge accusation a month ago. AV is a habitual evader to facing the reality. Let's see if AV makes good use of this last additional chance that Sukumpol had given him to defend.
