Chalerm: No to security laws

Special laws related to security will not be invoked to control the rally of the Pitak Siam group planned for Nov 24-25, Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung said.

Mr Chalerm said that in a meeting of the National Security Council on Monday afternoon the issue of whether to invoke security-related laws including the Internal Security Act would not be discussed because he was not fond of violence and would not resort to using it.

Apart from the ISA, other security-related laws are Martial Law and the Executive Decree for Administration in Emergency Situations, or the emergency decree.

"...because, in the aftermath of the rally, either he or the government must go."
The DSI is so eager to invite Boonlert to have a grill after the rally.

And not 2 hours later, the NSC is saying that use of the ISA has not been ruled out. Who to believe, Chalerm or the NSC? Now that's a tough call.

Disc. 2. I believe you have Chalerm confused with Chuwit Komolvisit.

First you provide everyone who's opposed to this government with the necessary proof, for use in the Courts, that what everyone knows to be true, that this is a proxy government, and now you reject the use of ISA,despite the fact that most PTP MP's,the incompetent police force and the UDD are practically begging for it. What is going on,Chalerm?

If he is not fond of violence, then where did his sons inherit it from

Chalerm was certainly not afraid of violence against property when he ordered the destruction of dozens of businesses on Sukhumvit, before establishing a public park on the site as an apology.
