    On 28-10-2555 everybody has seen that the Pitak Siam rally was peaceful, no weapons. Why the government is so afraid of this upcoming rally? Pol. Gen. Adul Saengsingkaew please protect Pitak Siam people from the red shirts, real or fake.

    Disc17 "If the ISA is not in place - there would be violence. If the ISA is in place - there will not."

    I see. And wasn't the ISA in place in 2010? Your argument is invalid.

    I completely agree with D16. The ISA makes all the "public order stakeholders" involved and responsible for ensuring the public order.
    BTW: The ISA was introduced by the Surayud Chulanont govt in 2007 and it was imposed by the Abhisit govt in 2009 and 2010...

    Good, hopefully it will be a peaceful rally and all those claiming over re-action will be able to rejoice point fingers and laugh at all the fuss over nothing.

    @D15

    No, by Monday the government will claim the ISA had the effect and stopped any violence happening BUT the rally organisers will claim it was all over the top and Thailand is a laughing stock for invoking the ISA.

    Its just a game.

    If the ISA is not in place - there would be violence. If the ISA is in place - there will not.

    Better for Thailand's sake to have the ISA in place and no violence.

    Simple.

    @D13

    The ISA means that all parties are in the control chain for keeping order. The police, the government, the army - everyone. It is everyones responsibility.

    The concern is without the ISA then trouble makers could cause violence and then, with violence, a coup could take place as elements of the army could use the the lack of public order to say "government has lost control and we should take over to restore order".

    Therefore by invoking the ISA and making the military responsible for law and order as well as the police, it means that "violence" cannot be used as an excuse for a coup.

    D9 Sensible69 - The existence of the ISA will have no effect on whether a coup happens on not. A coup happens because military leaders decide to do so. Do you honestly think that a simple declaration by the cabinet, is going to effect their decision? And without the military backing an ISA is basically hot air, because we all know the BIB are useless when it comes to crowd control.

    I think come Monday, the protest will be done and Chalerm and his panicking buddies will be the laughing stock of the world.

    How if the government is overestimate the situation? I meant, the security force number is more than protesters?
