Pitak Siam rally national security threat, PM says

Tomorrow's Pitak Siam rally poses a threat to national security, which justifies the invocation of the Internal Security Act (ISA), Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said yesterday.

Crowd control police officers rest in hammocks in the compound of Government House. They have been assigned to deal with tomorrow’s Pitak Siam rally. CHANAT KATANYU

Appearing on the TV pool in the evening, Ms Yingluck said intelligence reports indicated that the rally was aiming at toppling the democratically elected government in violation of the constitution.

All Pitak Siam want to do is hold a peaceful rally but the government seems to be in a headless chicken panic mode.
    Quote from the article
Appearing on the TV pool in the evening, Ms Yingluck said intelligence reports indicated that the rally was aiming at toppling the democratically elected government in violation of the constitution.
She said the reports indicated that the protesters would use violence, storm government buildings and instigate public disturbances to achieve their objective.
Doesn't this seem like the Red Shirts in 2010 all over again?

If PM YS and her fugitive brother's PTP governs the country justly and fairly, the whole country will prosper and people will find no reason to protest at all.

They try to do everything to keep people away from the rally..but they won't be able to change the mind of the people.

Your "intelligence" community has never gotten anything correct, Ms. PM. Why would they start now? This is just more fear mongering by PTP as usual.

“More than 1,700 crowd control police from eight lower northeastern provinces were sent from the Region 3 Provincial Police training centre in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday morning.” Will they wear red shirts or black shirts this time?

a peacefull rally cannot and will not topple the government so bearing in mind that the organisers are the same group that have resorted to violent means to oust legitimate governments before this government is 100% correct to make preparations to protect it's citizens and property

For the record, this is the first mention of "violence" that I've heard. Anyone else?
