Exactly. These people want to live in a democracy, but only if the person THEY vote for gets elected.

i read only about the reds, the yellows.....as we see yesterday again, the big part from the protester are peacfull, thats ok, but i think, no matter which colour, there are everytime some people want to use violence. And for leader of every colour its impossible to control so many people.
so please be fair, every colour have peacefull protester.

Just like in the USA, a majority of voters chose a leader. If these folks want regime change, there is a process to achieve it. We re-elected our current President, Thailand selected Yingluck Shinawatra to lead them. respect the choice of the majority, and respect your Prime Minister. Like her, or hate her, she is your elected leader, you agreed to live with the results of the last election, and now it's time to be an adult about it, an follow her. If you want change, you to BE the change! Respect your leaders, and get respected in return.

You can be for against this government or any other past or future government, but the way I see it, PS rewarded the government a penalty without goalkeeper...and the government scored! PS: we bring 1 Million to the rally! GVT: okay...so we bring out the police in full force! (Now, everybody knew, that 1 M was way out of reach, but...hey...they said it!) PS: we want a coup! GVT: fine...we enforce the ISA and search every single car, coming into BKK! PS: we cut through barbed wire! GVT: okay...here is some teargas! You didn't lose to evil! You lost to stupidity!

Who are the demonstrators, Pitak Siam or police?

I don't believe Thailand is moving forward. Nor, do I believe the theme of this protest is the answer.

No government, this one especially has ever dealth with the fundamental problem; education reform. There is not just a huge economic gap in this country, but also an intellectual one.

The masses are ill-informed and uneducated, yet are the ones that put the PTP in power. The PTP are just as happy as the Dems supposedly were to keep them ignorant, so as to easily buy them off.

A small intelligentsia sees the PTP for what it is, but are outgunned by the overwhelming numbers of red supporters who lack both knowledge and the means to us

Couldn't agree more, Khun tamsin D#40.

We are 'lucky' enough to have opportunities to try out numerous coups in the past. Not a single one can be said to contribute to our democratic progress. Quite the contrary. Why should we assume the next one will be different? Alas, no one felt a need to answer this question, let alone consult history or other analytical methods beyond peer consesus of the like-minded people.
