Thailand this is not Democracy, this is a communist police state. Same communist tactics.

So, if one discounts demonstrators from outside Bangkok who claim they were blocked from attending this rally, the organisers could only attract about 17,000 people from a city of over 12 million. General Boonlert and his colleagues are throwbacks to the bad old days. Their time is past.

Hopefully those who oppose the Government will now realise that calling for a military coup, and the replacement of a democratically elected Government, however flawed, by what would have amounted to a military dictatorship, has no appeal the the vast majority of Thai people.

No over reaction by the police. The violent splinter groups that tried to incite violence were put down quickly. Tear gas is much better than bullets. The security personnel did a stand up job as well as the government for invoking the ISA and planning the operation correctly.

When comparing Seh Ai and the late Seh Dan, it is not difficult to find out that Kattiyat had a higher leadership capability than Boonlert.

To me, this man is worth 1000's of jatuporns...
He had the courage to stand up, but more important, he had the courage to stop and make sure no one person would die under his watch.

No matter what his motives where, he took his responsibility serious.
Can't say that from any of those red-shirt leaders.

I like to congratulate the government of an excellent handling of this protest instigated by an extremely small number of militaristic and undemocratic elements. At some stage they and their likeminded compatriots must realize they represent the past and have no place in the development of a country that is slowly loosing its edge and can only stay at the forefront if the political forces are able to settle their differences or discuss them in a democratic forum and focus their energy on the economic development instead of relics of the past.

Once again the Shinawatra dynasty finds a way to stop any dissenting voice. Nice job.

"I had better go to a krathin [Buddhist monk robe presentation] ceremony," he said after calling off the rally around 5pm yesterday. He said he would no longer lead Pitak Siam.

Boonlert said it right. He and his group members had to go in jail for what they had done to damage the country's reconciliation.

Anti-government protestors assaulting the police officer who fell on ground with large sticks are behaving like animals.

So much for democracy in Thaksinland. The government was hellbent in stop this protest from the beginning. From stopping cars from entering BKK, Yingluck speech to stay away we do not want you, to blocking off most accesses to the protest site. I am sure if one is so inclined, they could have open up more access in an orderly way to allow more people to reach the site. I would guess the the government is now aware that there is a large group of citizens who will oppose there corrupt ways.
