Poll: Most people confident in PM

Most people have confidence in Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in coping with the censure debate now being held in the House of Representatives, according to the results of an Abac Poll revealed on Sunday.

The poll was carried out between Nov 20-24 on 2,054 people in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Lop Buri, Chon Buri, Chanthaburi, Phichit, Phetchabun, Chiang Mai, Mukdahan, Nong Khai, Chaiyaphum, Surin, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Phatthalung, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat.

A majority or 87.7% of the respondents attached importance to the censure debate, while 12.3% would pay no attention to it.

Disc 28 - It's not only PTP that keep Thaksin's name on top it's the Democrats and PAD, and their clones, that can't stop using him as their only leverage. The Democrats keep using him to deflect critiques of their administration and to sling mud and the PAD wouldn't even exist without using him as their hate target.

@Disc 25 - You do know that China is not as nice as it seems? They engage in currency manipulation and heavily subsidize Industries in order to compete on the world market (although less subsidizes are given now). I think people would give PTP a chance if PTP stop talking about Thaksin or trying to pass a bill that frees all convicted criminals. Not to mention policies that are heavily saddled with debt.

Isn't 74.4% to 26.5% just about the same split as the popularity of the Coalition as compared to the Democrats?

A common theme running through the comments from critics of this government is that those who support the present government are unintelligent, uneducated simpletons, incapable of exercising a meaningful vote. It was just such claims by the PAD that led to their downfall. No political party will ever succeed that labels the majority of voters in this manner.

It is apparent that Thailand has the best Prime Minister that they have ever had. She is capable of accomplishing many acheivements. Stop allowing these opposition leaders to disrupt this country and turn it into another country like Egypt or Syria. This country has large possibilities to follow China into a leader in world economy and production. The people of Thailand need to rise up into the 21th century thinking and allow a good government to work in their favor. You have a good government now and if allowed to grow it will be a success.

disc 18,Spot on shes always been weldressed and kept her head up trying and achieving goals for her fellow Thais.But very sadly on this column you see some sad cases daily speaking bad of her.In one week she met Obama,Wen jabeo,Dave cameron etc.All for the good of Thailand.Let the Polls keep rolling the true Facts.Let the negatives in this column fade away.

Nope... the number I quoted was provided by the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) and is the estimated $10 billion of LOSSES this policy will cost the country.

Again (and this time please don't avoid the question) - how many roads, firemen, hospitals, schools etc could have been bought instead of bribing a voting bloc?

[Facepalm] Yes, dear. Is that your qualifications for a good politician? Nice and pretty? Why not get Palmy or my ex-girlfriend to do it? There's a really 'nice and pretty' waitress at a restaurant I go to. She was educated in Australia. I suppose she could be PM... if her surname was Shinawatra. How much money can she cost the country before she can be shouted at? 300 billion baht not enough?
