Bhumjaithai shuns renegade MP

The opposition Bhumjaithai Party (BJT) has announced that it will boycott Ratchaburi MP Chaworalut Chinthammamitr for voting against the party line in the recent censure debate.

Party secretary-general Supachai Jaisamut said on Thursday that Ms Chaworalut defied the party by giving a vote-of-confidence to three cabinet ministers targeted during the debate.

The BJT earlier passed a resolution that all of its MPs should support Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, abstain in the vote against Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung and Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat, and vote against Deputy Interior Minister Chatt Kuldilok.

#11 "Android's comments will always be positive of PTP and red-shirts, no matter what they've done".. while the pro yellows/dems are impartials as we can see in this forums, with 100% systematic critics or insults against the PTP/Red-shirts... and the BJT in the same terms than android (in the BP, today). Thank for the laugh

'... the party must come first..'. Scary. Thailand is heading for a 1 party state at full speed.

D8, the second line was related to the comment about BJT can't be trusted as D5 Android said.
Android's comments will always be positive of PTP and red-shirts, no matter what they've done...no matter if that would be constitutional.

"...A member of the House of Representatives is not bound by the resolution of his political party in submitting an interpellation, debating and voting of no-confidence." Section 162, 2007 Constitution

Voting against the party line policy = no justice in Thailand

Section 162 clearly states that All members must vote independently in a vote of confidence (censure motion) and should never be bound by any Resolution of their political party.

Clear evidence of collusion by the ruling party

#7, i try to understand your post but i can't, it's totally abscond. Send your remarks to the BJT "A member of the House of Representatives is not bound by the resolution of his political party in submitting an interpellation, debating and voting of no-confidence". It's just a deontological problem for this party, the Red shirts have nothing to do there no more than your subjective remark about "their type of democracy". Except if it's just to have some "like".

D5 Mr. Android... Try to read the constitution and maybe understand a bit about democracy like D2 Khun Slimdog has actually done....

Oh wait... There's also a Red Shirt type of democracy...

"voting against the party line" this is as despicable as vote buying, vote forcing. Shame on Bhumjaithai, the famous party never to be trusted.

  • Discussion 5 : 29 Nov 2012 at 19.535

BJT favours PM but not the PT members. A two faced party that can't be rely on with full trust.

  • Discussion 4 : 29 Nov 2012 at 19.474

Perhaps Ratchaburi MP Chaworalut Chinthammamitr voted in line with the people of the district she represents. That's called 'democracy', something that BJT needs to learn about. But maybe BJT is more concerned with themselves than they are with the people that put them in office.
