Police ready for UDD rally

BANGKOK - Police are ready to maintain law and order during tomorrow's rally by the red shirts of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), said Pol Maj Gen Parinya Chansuriya, deputy metropolitan police chief.

The rally, to be led by Pol Lt Col Waipot Arpornrat, Payap Panket and Darunee Kritboonyalai, is to call for the government to proceed with the vote in the third reading of the constitution amendment bill.

Pol Maj Gen Parinya said the red shirts would gather at the Royal Plaza tomorrow morning before marching past parliament, Government House, Democracy Monument, the Supreme Court near Sanam Luang and King Rama VI monument by Lumpini Park, using the Charoen Krung-Rama IV Road-Hua Lamphong-Lumpini Park route.

The Red Shirts just lost their big argument about 'double standards'.
Similar, with AV and Suthep reporting to charges and sitting out due process, Thaksin will loose his argument about unfair justice because he did not let justice run its course.

Amazing how people thought the UDD are still peaceful when they were beating up injured soldiers entering hospitals. Not to mention even storming the hospitals to find soldiers and oppositions. How disgusting, even in times of war, hospitals are off limits.

The reason they are allowed to go where they plan to, is because they are supporting the government, not trying to overthrow it.

    Do sensible people attack Hospitals??

android D24 : you write "The UDD rally does not call for a coup or topple the government". But it spent 2 violent and deadly months "rallying' to topple the government of 2010. Remember? Or prove I am wrong. Bet you will not answer my question. Did TS redshirts/UDD/blackshirts try to topple the government of that time?

Discussion 25, thank you for your comments,,,I doubt very much you have the moral right to complain since you are capable of posting today the reds are "Sensible people holding a rally" which must be the biggest insult to the truth and to all of us who had to suffer the terror occupation from the reds for 2 months...

@Disc:21 "Can someone please tell me how a serving police officer is allowed to organise a protest rally?"

Sure, it makes perfect sense when you consider we have a fugitive criminal running the government...

only a small political rally, organisers not calling for a coup, overthrow of government or seizure of government buildings like the looney pitak siam lot so no need for special controls.
