Former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has told the BBC that the murder charge against him stemming from the 2010 street protests is unfair.

Former prime minister and current opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva speaks during an interview with BBC World News in London.

During an interview with BBC World News, Mr Abhisit said his government was handling a situation in which people occupied the middle of the city. He said armed men had infused the crowd and were firing grenades.

Interview ? More like a verbal assault. The woman had not done her homework and clearly knew nothing about what actually happened here. The scandalous BBC sinks lower.

'"The charges they are placing against me are very far-fetched," Mr Abhisit said. Sums it up.

AV blaming Suthep ? No, clarification.

With 2 foreign reporters killed and many others shot and seriously injured during the 2010 protests it should have dawned on Abhisit by now that he is not going to get powder puff questions from the foreign media. He was so flustered that he sold out Suthep and his military pals while trying to maintain his own innocence. It didn't work though as he made himself look oh so guilty.

So many posts claiming that BBC is biased. Please oh please, give me a hint to an objective source of information. I know about ASTV of course, and both the Nation and Bangkok post are excellent at neutral and investigative reporting...
I really would like to add a reliable international news organisation to my list though.

Typical biased questioning from the BBC. But after their appalling coverage of the 2010 armed riots, it's hardly surprising.

Abhisit did a poor job at handling the protesters i 2010. If fact, I will give him the benefit of the doubt, and assume that the whole tragedy was administered by the military. After all, it has the signatures of soldiers reaching their objectives all over them. 'Soldiers with live ammunition' has been the standard operating procedure both in the 1992 and 1973 riots. Basically there is nothing new. On both those occasions, the man in charge had to step down. In 2010, not so much.
The charges against Abhist might eventually bring to the light who actually devised this primitive plan of actions to control the demonstration.

I've watched the video [disc #7] and it's obvious to me that Abhisit is not only an honest man but is quite prepared to fight this trumped-up politically motivated charge through the due process of law ... he came across in the interview clearly, calmly + honourably.

I don't think the charges are far fetch, there has to be accountability of those who authorised the use of force and he must, know that. Why do you think he pinned the blame on his deputy for issuing the orders.

It's clear that thus far there has not been accountability and that, unlike the murder charges seems very unfair for the crime victims seeking fairness, not vengeance.

Disc 12, ricoaj22. The interviewer did an excellent job bringing out the true character of her guest Abhisit , who was there willingly. She completely broke Abhisits weak integrity, he then pushed the blame onto his deputy Suthep.
