DSI readies for Abhisit, Suthep to show

400 cops deployed at HQ in case of colour clash

Hundreds of police will be deployed to ensure safety today when former premier Abhisit Vejjajiva and his former deputy Suthep Thaugsuban report to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to hear murder charges.

DSI director-general Tarit Pengdith said yesterday he has asked the Metropolitan Police Bureau to provide three companies of police or about 400 police to ensure safety at the DSI.

Mr Tarit said the DSI has received information that two groups of people _ the red shirts, who want Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep to be detained after hearing the murder charges, and supporters of the two Democrats _ would turn up at its head office.

@ Disc 6: The whole mess started when a group of fascist people decided that a democratically elected government should not be allowed to rule and when a group of soldier decided that their will was more important than that of a population who elected democratically a government!
The whole mess started when a small group of people decided that they are above the law and that they have the right to ignore the will of the majority of the population.
The whole mess started when a political party, who didn't have a majority of votes, was allowed to rule thanks to the support of a small group of fascist who believe they are above the law!

    @ Disc 8:
How can you compare a group who wants democracy with a group who wants to "freeze the country", calls for illegal military coup and believe they are above the will of the majority?

I expect Channel 11 to broadcast the event live to give A.V. air time like Thaksin had before. Otherwise it is double standard!

This entire attempt is a farce .... conjered up by the same person who conceived of, bought, paid for, instigated and fueled the entire situation caused by the anything BUT peaceful demonstraters. Another attepmt at getting amnesty ... BTW ... what ever happened to the 'millions of signatures' for the pardon .. seems that too was a dismal failure!

'I will accept the verdict even if it's the death penalty I will accept that and I'm asking former Prime Minister and members of the current government they should do the same because they are always looking to pass a bill to grant themselves amnesty. That's not something I've ever done, I'm willing to face charges. I will fight to prove my innocence in the courts and if the courts pass a guilty verdict I will accept it' Abhisit interview BBC

Since they have inside information of pending conflicts between groups at the arraignment, will they employee 20,000 police at check points around Bangkok to stop trouble makers from entering? Or is that VIP treatment reserved for anti-government groups only?

"The charge that’s being put against me, at the moment, is the death of a person who wasn't even protesting." Abhisit, BBC interview, Dec 2012

D4: Did any of the red shirt leaders ever regret having started the whole mess?

If Tarit was part of the CRES, why does he need to investigate anything, is he not the one who should already know better than anybody else?

"Army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha said the CRES did not issue any order to kill anyone but to use weapons against armed people who had also killed and injured a certain number of soldiers during the anti-government rallies."

That says it all now, does it not?

"BBC: You did authorize the use of live ammunition.
Abhisit: We did authorize the use of live ammunition.
BBC: Do you regret that decision?
Abhisit: But how else do you fight people with arms?
BBC: So you don’t regret the use of live ammunition?" - interview with BBC, Dec, 2012
