PT MPs back away from Sudarat

Pheu Thai MPs in Bangkok, and the party's city and district councillors, have agreed to back off and will not push for Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan to run in the Bangkok governor election in February, party MP Vicharn Minchainant said on Monday.

Mr Vichan said they agreed to stop their campaign for her candidacy  after Khunying Sudarat posted on her Facebook page on Sunday, saying she was not ready to run in the gubernatorial election and wanted to concentrate on restoring the birthplace of Lord Gautama Buddha in what is now Nepal..

Bangkok MPs, city and district councillors would support whoever was picked by the party as its candidate, he said.
