Kwanchai's jail term upheld

UDON THANI : The Appeal Court yesterday upheld a lower court verdict sentencing red-shirt leader Kwanchai Praipana to two years and eight months in jail for attempted murder stemming from a clash with yellow-shirts.

The court found Mr Kwanchai, chairman of the Khon Rak Udon (We Love Udon) group, led an attack against members of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) at Prajak Silpakom public park four years ago.

About 700 anti-PAD demonstrators armed with knives and clubs stormed the rally site in the afternoon, attacking PAD supporters and pulling down their stage.

"He said he was concerned about the red shirts if the Supreme Court ruled against him."

    Is that a threat?

People like this are not political, they are criminal using politics to justify their crime. Red or yellow a criminals who kill deserve what they get. They tarnish the cause they claim they support.
