BANGKOK - A deputy spokesman for the opposition Democrat Party and a member of the party's legal team was viciously bashed on Monday night, an attack the opposition leader says was politically motivated.

Ramet Ratanachaweng, a legal adviser to the major opposition party, suffered a skull fracture and severe concussion when he was attacked in front of his condominium in Bangkok's Bang Na district on Monday night.
