The Democrat Party will decide on its candidate to run for Bangkok governor next week, deputy leader Apirak Kosayodhin said on Sunday.
He said four party members had expressed their willingness to run for the top job at the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. They are MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra, the current Bangkok governor; Prakorb Jirakitti, former deputy Bangkok governor and a list MP; Korbsak Sabhavasu, former party executive member; and Apichai Techaubon, a list MP.
The party’s candidate selection committee, chaired by former party leader Banyat Bantadtan, will meet on Monday afternoon to select the most suitable candidate, Mr Apirak said.
