Pheu Thai Party to set charter course

Crunch meeting called to tackle rising discord

Pheu Thai Party MPs and key figures could reach a decision Tuesday on the charter change proposal.

They will meet to discuss whether to hold a referendum, the questions to be posed in any referendum, and how much to change the charter, amid signs the party is fracturing over how much emphasis to place on the issue.

The Democrats claim the charter change proposal is aimed at whitewashing fugitive ex-prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

disc.14, we are not yellow shirts but simply against corruption. It appears that if you are not for corruption you must be a yellow shirt so what does that make the red shirts, corruption supporters?

The Yellow propagandists in here said"paid for by public money"and"waste of time".
But they don't criticize an action to destroy the parliament for depriving the power from the formal government.
And, After depriving the power by the force like a communist army or terrorists not through the election, they has supported and permitted tacitly its uneducated action. But they could not win the election again and again in the past 20years. The formal government came back to the Parliament.
After all, the Yellow's obstruction became""paid for by public money"and"waste of time" for Thailand and many peoples.

If the government holds public meetings to support the bill and is paid for by public money. Then the Dems should be able to hold public meetings denouncing the bill on public money also

Disc 5 - "no body (including the print media) is either answering or asking those with the know." Not entirely true, the English print media hasn't bothered but the Thai media has covered it quite extensively.

This is all such a waste of time. No way will Taksin be allowed back in. Everyone knows what will happen, excluding egomaniac Taksin, that is, who simply doesn't care.

'Noppadol Pattama, legal adviser to Thaksin, said his client supports a referendum because he believed it would be the best solution to Thailand's political problems'.

Meaning Thaksin is whitewashed and stops dividing the country and harassing the Opposition. Unlikely though.

100 % agree with posts asking why the need to change it. What difference is it going to make to Mr & Mrs Somchai's life ? None at all.

"...Jatuporn Prompan wanted the government to go ahead with the charter rewrite process without conducting a referendum."

That's the man who was yelling "Democracy!" in the streets some time ago. What a ...... (you need to fill in the blank by yourself, oherwise the post will not be published.)
