Yingluck tops poll as 'most constructive politician'

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been named in an opinion survey as the Thai politician having given the most constructive performance during the past year.

Up to 52.1 per cent of respondents chose Ms Yingluck for the honour in the nationwide survey of 1,275 people aged 18 and older, conducted by Bangkok University's Research Institute between Dec 15 and 20.

She was followed by opposition and Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva (16.3 per cent), Rak Thailand Party leader Chuvit Kamolvisit (15.3 per cent) and Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung (7.1 per cent).

Ask there same people where does the money come from that supports these populist policies, 1. Government 2. Tax Payers. Don't be surprise if majority voted 1

I guess YS is constructive because she said prices are going up because people are feeling too hot due to the weather. They don't call this country amazing for no reason.

Nothing creative about losing billions in rice exports or putting a million new cars into gridlock .It is just short sighted nonsense .Taxpayer money is supposed to be used to improve the country not to handout out in shortsighted feel good schemes that hurt us in the long run .

Thailand is not Bangkok only. Thais are not Bangkokian only.

If you give money away that is not yours obviously you will gain in popularity with some. What about the flood relief scheme that has gone quiet recently and the millions of tons of rice rotting in warehouses with more on the way.Who paid for the poll to be taken, yes the government I bet.

How did the pollsters define "constructive" when they asked the question? But I find it interesting that the PTP's PR machine was able to find a poll to counter the media's jibe so quickly. Also find it interesting that Yingluck got essentially the same amount of votes as she did in the election. Blind adoration perhaps?

And if she steers clear of messing around with the Constitution, she will remain popular among the majority of Thai voters (in E-Saan and the North) for a very long time. At least, until the country begins going into serious debt, as result of her socialistic populist public policy.

"Yingluck tops poll as 'most constructive politician"

I'm very surprised about this qualification of our Mrs PM !!!!
POLITICIAN : she is not, she is only a businesswoman who became PM by elder brother Taksin's order. Before her PM position, she never involved with any political circles...
CONSTRUCTIVE : she is not, she only follows the ideas of her constructive/destructive elder brother Taksin...

Dis 13 – Seems odd there are so many new cars of the streets of BKK. Wonder if this has anything to do with the rebate program? Must be nice for families to take their children to school in a car instead of the back of a motorbike, especially in the rainy season.

Taking sides in the Yingluck - Abhisit debate is boring, everyone makes the same old tired comments.
The main point for me in this article is I hope Intarakomalyasut has a nickname, I would hate to pronounce his real name, must be a problem for foreign news readers.
