Cases filed against Abhisit, Suthep

Nineteen red-shirts who were seriously wounded in the military crackdown on United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters in 2010 filed a complaint with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) against former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his former deputy Suthep Thaugsuban on Thursday.

They were led by UDD lawyer Karom Polpornklang and Winyat Chartmontri.

Mr Karom said the 19 sustained serious injuries in the military crackdowns on the protesters between April 10 and May 19, 2010.  They asked the DSI investigators to charge Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep, former director of the Centre for the Resolution of Emergency Situation (CRES), with attempted murder.

Will the DSI charge former PM and brother-in-law of Thaksin,Somchai Wongsawat, with murder and attempted murder for the deaths and injuries suffered by PAD protesters during his tenure?

Will DSI file murder and attempted murder charges against Thaksin, for his many "incidents",including WoD,Tak Bai,Krue Se and the PAD protests since he was the de facto PM then just as he is now?

This will be a measure stick for what kind of "democracy" the convicted criminal fugitive is leading Thailand towards.

I've yet to see any of the injured soldiers laying claims against Thaksin and the UDD.

They were breaking the law. A state of emergency law was in process and they were told to leave and even buses were provided for that purpose. A summons should be issued to them because they have admitted they were there.

What a joke. This is the kind of story that makes the rest of the world laugh at Thailand. What kind of country would you have if the government wasn't allowed to break up an angry mob?
