Abhisit affirms support for 'experienced' Sukhumbhand

Sukhumbhand Paribatra is the most suitable person to run as the Democrat Party's candidate in the coming gubernatorial election, Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva affirmed on Friday.

He said the opposition party was fully behind the current Bangkok governor's bid for a second term in office.

"Last time BKK flooded was because Sukhumband would not cooperate with the Feds." That is absolute nonsense! Do you actually live in Bangkok? If you did you'd know Sukhumband kept more of Bangkok from flooding.

Last time BKK flooded was because Sukhumband would not cooperate with the Feds. A vote for him will get BKK flooded again. He sees the PT as the opposition and refuses to cooperate with them. When flooding occurs there are no parties...at least this is not the time for politics.

Unfortunately,he is right. As for Abhisit's statement about his "suitability",the Dems really didn't have any other choice,as their other candidates can't muster the same volume of support that Sukhumbhand can. Also very unfortunate.

When the chips were down Sukhumband fought for Bangkok while PT fumbled around doing nothing .That is why he gets my vote .I think the governor needs more power to affect change ion the city .There seems to be too much overlapping of jurisdiction.
