Sukumpol accused of 'ulterior motives'

Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva is petitioning the Administrative Court and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to intervene against a fresh order aimed at retroactively removing him as an instructor at an army cadet school.

Abhisit: Fighting to keep his military rank

Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat signed an order retroactively nullifying Mr Abhisit's appointment as a lecturer of the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA) 25 years ago.

brilliant #30, Not only that, they must also proof beyond reasonable doubt that AV falsified this paperwork and that will be tricky as we all know the Army itself produces this paperwork (at a cost). So, well done Sukhumpol, you and not Abhisit is in a bind, do you really think the Army wants to loose this substantial income? Everybody knows this age old "extra income" ploy. Interesting little quirk, in Thai law defendants may lie in court, but witnesses don't, if they do they can be sentenced for perjury. I don't think this will go anywhere, too much involved and our esteemed Defense Minister is caught with his foot in his mouth.

andorid - in a true democracy and real court systems, the charged party doesn't have to prove anything. The accusing party must prove guilt. Well, except in the red version of democracy.

I see the red drones are out in force saying Abhisit should prove he is innocent. Isn't it up to the courts to decide he's guilty? That's how justice works.

Discussion 3 brilliant : "Fight on, Abhisit."
Yes. AV should fight on to prove that he never used false document for draft-dodging purpose.

D21,peterd : "At the birthday bash for Yaowapa Wongsawat,Thaksin's younger sister, many months ago,Mr Tarit dropped in to the party with a goodies basket for the host and verbalised his thoughts on how grateful he was to the family that his career had prospered,a source at the party said". Bangkok Post 28/07/2012.
He also stated that same day that no Men In Black has ever been arrested,so the arrest of Surachai "Rang" Thewarat,on 15th July 2010,suddenly never happened?

    To be continued,if needed.

Does this inspire your confidence in Mr. Tarit and the DSI?

D14,DomDunn : Do you believe in the phrase "if you repeat a lie enough times,it will eventually become the truth"? If not,why do you keep repeating it?
Furthermore, could you imagine that Abhisit actually has more important things to do,than playing Thaksin's and PTP's pathetic political games?
P.S. Don't answer if you feel your credibility will suffer a serious blow.

D21 peterd - Thaksin was charged for violating laws that were in effect while he was PM. Just because a new court was appointed after he broke the law doesn't forgive him of the crime he committed. He was charged, had his day in court, his lawyers argued his case, he was found guilty.
Pretty much SOP for most countries. Your theory means any criminal gets off because the judge wasn't on the bench when the crime got committed.

"Mr Abhisit insists on his innocence, denying claims he used a falsified military personnel registration document in the application process".

"Prayuth says draft-dodging probe cleared Abhisit earlier" 25/07/2012 Bangkok Post.

"Gen Prayuth yesterday said the case against the Democrat leader for allegedly evading the military draft was wrapped up in 1999 after the internal investigation, conducted by the army's Inspector-General Department, found there were no grounds to the claim".

Let's hope AV presents the proof asap instead of getting involved in the 'word slinging and accusations and counter arguments'. Sooner the facts are presented the sooner this rubbish will stop! Gentlemen your country needs you all to be focussed on real issues.....

  • Discussion 22 : 04 Jan 2013 at 13.5222

Why must AV has to fight? You just have to prove that the evidence of the investigating committee are false. You can file complaint against them. You were invited to do so.
