it's petty politics at its worst. Thaksin, Yingluck, PT and the Reds can't justify what they're doing with intelligence - so they have to resort to infantile mud-slinging against a decent man.

Show kindness and you will receive kindness. You are your worse enemy when you supported the use of illegal means to oust your political enemies/opponents and condemned unarmed demonstrators as terrorists. You tried to hold on and protect your ill gotten power and your own interest but landed in the uncovering of your sins and that of your party led government.

When in power Dems are the same as PT, how is this any more vindictive than taking away Thaksin's passport? Diplomatic passport yes that is reasonable, but not his normal passport. Thai politics is all about vendettas, it's the way Thais think, just look at the TV soaps.

taxsin vendetta towards av,for stopping the fasttrack reconcillation bill,to whitewash the fugitive of his crimes against the nation is apparent and tackey,it shows the double standards that exist, especially as the fugitive still holds his police rank, the defence minister and his 1600 generals should be more focusing on a plan of action to the suffering thai citizens in the troubled deep south ?

If someone was to vet all the university degrees held by Thai politicians, bureaurcrats and even many Thai university professors, all kinds of suspect documentation would be found.

For example, I know a dean at a prominent Thai university, who has a PhD from the University of Dublin, California which is a well-known diploma mill.

If you used fake high school diploma to apply for undergraduate university and you went all the way and received a PHd, should you be able to retain PHd?

D2 Renaissance, agreed, Sukumpol is walking on egg shells with this, it opens a whole can of worms dating back through 25 years of vetting all documents that important people (or any for that matter) have submitted to help get themselves preferential military deferment. By meddling like this he is alienating the army top brass whom he really should be getting on his side. He's made a fool of them unnecessarily, it's difficult to see this as anything but a cheap political stun with an ulterior motive, and it's going to backfire on him, I would be surprised if he is impeached or has a fall out with the generals who start showing insubordination

Fight on, Abhisit. Everyone with a smidgen of brains knows this is just a personal attack orchestrated by PTP, Ignore the childish behavior and rise above it.

There's no such thing as a clean Minister in Thailand. Sukumpol will experience a backlash for serving his boss in Dubai like this. There will be loads of graft going on in his ministry and some day soon it will be revealed to Sukumpol's cost. These people should understand that Thaksin uses people and then "throws them away" afterwards.
