'Patriots' to sue over temple row

A civic group affiliated with the yellow-shirt People's Alliance for Democracy will file a petition in the Criminal Court accusing the Foreign Ministry of providing false information to the public in the Thai-Cambodian Preah Vihear Temple dispute.

The petition will be lodged with the court on Monday, Jan 14, said political campaigner Chaiwat Sinsuwong, leader of the Khon Thai Rak Chart Raksa Pandin (Thais who love the nation and the land) group.

Would these be the same brilliant "patriots" that started a border war with our neighbor over this same issue?

Cant all the nutjobs in Thailand use their resources for more important things like improving the education system, cleaning up drugs, and solving the daily bleeding in the South?

It has been a peaceful few years under the current PM and now PADs are instigating the same nationalistic fever that might give good reasons to General reasons to deploy their Soldiers and stage another military coup.

D#5, Thailand is not one of nation in Pacific rim, may be that the reason it is quiet when China claimed South China Sea. Preah Vihear is another story. If any historians looked back to this region before the invasion of France. I remembered learning in school when Siam lost two cities in Cambodia to france. Siamraj & Seesopon. I don't know what province preah Vihear is located.i believe now Cambodia is free from France, any land seized by france should be returned. French drew the map. it made sense that it drew to benifit its nation since it colonized Cambodia at that time.England would fight if Argentina again tryto claim Falkland Island

The temple was built by the Khmers, NOT the Thais, in the XIth century, during the Angkorian time, by the Suryavarman king dynasty. SIMPLE. It is Khmer, and not Thai; same as Phimai, Phanom Rung, and even at Lopburi, it is of Khmer origin. And by the way, who sacked Angkor in the XVth? The Thais. Who sacked Luang Prabang after? The Thais.

Fight for land, standby and watch teachers killed everyday in Southern Thailand. Why?

"Nobody should blame the previous government for allowing Cambodia to take this case to court. Cambodia exercised its right to ask the court to interpret the [1962] judgement," - Abhisit, January 5, 2013

"PAD leader Chamlong Srimuang said yesterday that the government needs to meet his group's seven demands or it will besiege Government House again." - TN, January 5, 2013

D 10 what D 3 was saying was that this man was involved in the 2008 airport seizure, he is wanted and should be in jail for that and not for talking about the disputed area. Same as the people asking for TS to be arrested. He is a breath of hot air that will disappear when he can't show the 570 000 signatures, just like the man that wanted 1 million people to protest. If Thailand wants to be part of the international community they must adhere to the ICJ.

One million, again. The same crucial (and chimeric) number and the same willingness to move the soldiers, thinking that they are more appropriate than the ICJ to resolve the conflict. A new soap opera to remember they exist.

This is a serious act of international recidivism. Even before the International court has expressed its decision yet, this group incites the Government to non-compliance with the decision of the International Court, who has no interest in this case other than to express its fair and unbiased opinion on an international dispute! If this group of people incite and encourage the [Thai] people to non obedience, for what do we need international courts then? Thailand, as a civilized country, is a member of the UN and has to comply with these international verdicts. Period!

Disc3 "This guy is a trouble maker. Why is he and his other PADs friends still walking and talking so freely? Either throw him inside JAIL or throw him inside Cambodia to join his two other trouble making PADs friends inside Cambodian jail"

Freedom of speech Peua Thai style... Don't share my opinion? Go to prison.
(BTW - that doesn't mean I agree with the guy. But I believe he can speak.)
