Sukhumbhand formally resigns

MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra bade farewell to civil servants and other employees of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration after resigning as Bangkok governor on Wednesday afternoon.
He submitted the resignation letter to Ninnat Chalitanont, the city clerk, who was to forward it to the interior minister. The resignation was to take effect from midnight.
A large number of city officials and employees stood in lines to watch him leave the office and gave him flowers in a show of moral suport.
