UDD demands criminal amnesty law

- +

The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) on Tuesday demanded an executive decree be issued granting amnesty to those accused of criminal offences in connection with political conflicts between Jan 1, 2007-Dec 31, 2011.

The draft executive decree proposed by the UDD provides for amnesty for those who have been sentenced to a jail term and whose cases are final and those whose cases are still in  the courtsl.

The amnesty, however, would not cover people with decision-making power or those who gave orders for political activities during that period.
