Pongsapat clears himself with EC

Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen on Wednesday submitted related documents to the Election Commission to clear himself of an allegation that he had a record for stealing a radio while studying in the United States.

The alleged theft occurred in 1980 while he was studying criminology in the US under a scholarship.

Pol Gen Pongsapat said the Royal Thai Police Office investigated this matter in 2000 and found the allegation was not true.

Show me how to proof something you didn't do. Stealing and then lying about it sounds like Lance Armstrong denying doping and then admitting. I truly hope this is not the case for it will seriously irreversibly damage his credibility.

Discussion 11 G.Manot in Pongsapat's agenda if elected is a better fire service and quick response time so they can put out the red shorts fires quickly. Now that would get my vote ha ha.

If this Shinawatra clansman did not do anything wrong then why should he need to produce documents to prove something that does not exist? I can see the future here with the same tried and true family signature on it. He gets found out and blubbers through his family style tears, "It was an honest mistake."
Enough of the Clan, enough of PT and enough of UDD. This country has got to get it right and move forward in a positive direction. The world is not waiting impatiently for this. Just laughing at the comic relief that Thailand produces on a daily basis.

If stealing a radio is the worst thing he ever did,
I'm sure he is the best candidate they can get.

Maybe it was an assignment in one of his criminology classes - go steal something.

yes either he has a criminal record for theft in usa or not, for it to be acceptablr by the royal thai police is not acceptable, for a person to apply for a trusted public job with a large bugdet, the ec commision have no choice but to investigate these allegiation if indeed found to have, then he must step down in the bangkok election

Is this similar to the cases when the US finds that Thais received bribes from US companies and the companies are punished for that in the USA. But then in Thailand the US evidence is completely ignored and some people who are guilty according to the US are never even investigated.
The bribery with the TOT and the film festival comes to my mind. Was any Thai person ever prosecuted in Thailand for corruption in that case? I don’t think so. Justice the Thai way?

'Pol Gen Pongsapat said the Royal Thai Police Office investigated this matter in 2000 and found the allegation was not true.'

So then the EC just said OK?
