MPs seek ruling on Abhisit's MP status

A number of MPs from the ruling Pheu Thai Party on Wednesday submitted a request for the House speaker to ask the Constitution Court to rule whether Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has lost his MP status since the Defence Ministry has removed his military rank.

Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat last year issued an order to remove the the army rank of acting sub-lieutenant of Mr Abhisit for allegedly using falsified documents to apply for a teaching job at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy.

The request was submitted by Pheu Thai party list MP Sunai Jullapongsathorn to House speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont through second deputy House speaker Charoen Chankomol.

Do these MPs not have anything else to do? I have wondered sometimes what MPs actually do once they get elected in parliament.

Abhisit Vejjajiva is the kind of man who lives in his own bubble. He knows what he believes because he is one of the elites, let the facts fall where they may. The only impressive thing that has sprung from his head is his hair. Abhisit has the hair of a statesman. Only in Thai politics could such a man be so honored.

They are like school children squabbling in the play ground, grow up.More important things to attend to like the price of rice or the value of the Baht. Both are going to cripple the nation if nothing is done soon.
