Abhisit shrugs off threat of Dem isolation

- +

The Democrats are not feeling any pressure after a secret meeting was held between the red- and the yellow-shirt camps on the amnesty issue, party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said yesterday.

Mr Abhisit said he did not think the talks held on Thursday between key leaders of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) and the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) would result in his party becoming politically isolated.

The closed-door meeting, organised by deputy House speaker Charoen Chankomol, was attended by UDD co-leader and Pheu Thai party list MP Korkaew Pikulthong and PAD spokesman Parnthep Pourpongpan.
