Abhisit, Suthep at risk of dereliction of duty charges

Former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his former deputy Suthep Thaugsuban will be implicated for allegedly breaching a cabinet resolution over the construction of hundreds of police station buildings, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) says.

DSI chief Tarit Pengdith said Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep had apparently violated the cabinet agreement that gave the Royal Thai Police Office (RTPO) control over the bidding process to construct 396 police station buildings nationwide.

The cabinet agreement was reached under the Somchai Wongsawat government. The agreement said the RTPO would permit its regional offices to carry out their own bids to find a contractor to construct the buildings.

As police has cleared themselves and Tarit acknowledged his mistake in his summoning the PTP-affiliated Police Generals, and publicly apologizes,we are back to square one.
Politically motivated and overseas directed phoney charges to have AV & ST back an all included amnesty. Pathetic.
