Jatuporn deputy city boss reports quashed

Pheu Thai yesterday dismissed reports that red-shirt leader Jatuporn Prompan would become a deputy governor if the party wins tomorrow's Bangkok election.

Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit quoted Mr Jatuporn as saying the reports were groundless.

The red-shirt leader had helped Pheu Thai candidate Pongsapat Pongcharoen campaign for votes, but had not bargained for any city leadership position, Mr Prompong said.

"Several media outlets had been reporting" Including this one apparently, and typical of the low level of investigative reporting in Thailand as a whole.

The Dems should be banned from the election because of this. How typical of them. This type of corruption will cost them many votes at the polls. They just handed the PT a winning hand.

Jatuporn vice governor would be a slap in the face of every intelligent, hard working and tax paying citizen!!!

Why would Thai police have to be 'instructed' to do their duty.

I wonder how the people in Bangkok will vote after all what happened to Bangkok during the red-shirt protests in 2010. But Thai people are known to have a short memory and they might be tired of the old governor and want something new. But the rumor that Jatuporn will become Deputy may bring back those memories and can change the outcome of the election. Very clever move by the Democrats one day before the election.
