Opposition won't join amnesty talks

The opposition whips on Tuesday agreed their parties would not take part in any amnesty talks if they are again invited to participate by Deputy House Speaker Charoen Chankomol, Democrat MP Jurin Laksanavisit said.

Mr Jurin, chief of the opposition whip, said if the House of Representatives decided to deliberate amnesty bills there would be fresh conflict throughout the country.

Instead of pushing for an amnesty law, the government should concentrate on delivering its annual report to parliament and the people as required by the constitution, he said.

Of course the dems won't join the amnesty bill talks. The proposed bill has already made clear its point that serious offences committed during the political protests are excluded in this scheme, including man-slaughter and attempted murder.

Disc 3 BkPoster - What murder conviction? No-one has been convicted of murder.
Abhisit and Suthep have been charged with murder and have refused amnesty. They are prepared to go to court and defend themselves. A bit different to Nattawut, Jatuporn and Thaksin, huh?

Sitting together with representatives of the red thugs???? You have to be kiddin' !!! No educated or law abiding citizen would be able to sink that low....

Discussion 2. The Dems had not been convicted by the court unlike the red shirts and Thaksin. This is why they don't need the amnesty. I don't think the PAD had been avoiding anything since they are still in the country and you often see them on tv.

I guess this means that the DP are willing to accept the murder conviction and face the penalty.and the PAD is willing to go to court to face the charges they have been avoiding for 5 years?

Why would the opposition want to join something only designed to bring a fugitive back to cause more trouble .The opposition doesn't need amnesty because they haven't done anything wrong and they know it .Enjoy your Karma Thaksin .

I can certainly understand the Democrats point of view. Why would they want to sit around the table with a bunch of Thaksin hand picked people to discuss a whitewash for people who should be put on trial for breaking the law?
