PT MPs to defy charter court's request

- +

The Pheu Thai Party on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution that its MPs not submit an explanation to the Constitution Court over their support for a bill seeking to amend section 68 of the constitution.

Prompong Nopparit, the party spokesman, said the Constitution Court sent a letter asking the 312 MPs and senators who signed in support of the bill to submit an explanation in response to a case brought against them.

The court did so after accepting for consideration a petition filed by a senator asking that it rule whether the 312 lawmakers had violated the constitution.
