The Democrat and Pheu Thai parties have predicted a close finish in Sunday's byelection in Don Muang district of Bangkok.

Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Friday that his party's candidate, Tankhun Jitt-itsara, would fare better against his Pheu Thai rival than in 2011, when Pheu Thai's Karun Hosakul won by 8,000 votes.
