Judge Wasan Soypisudh's decision to resign from the Constitution Court was a personal decision, and not a consequence of any political pressure, court spokesman Pimol Thampithakpong said on Wednesday.
Mr Pimol's announcement confirmed Mr Wasan's statement made in an interview with reporters on Tuesday.
Mr Wasan has resigned, both as president and as a judge of the court. His resignation takes effect on Aug 1.
