The Appeal Court yesterday cleared red-shirt leader Jatuporn Prompan of defamation in two lawsuits filed by Democrats Abhisit Vejjajiva and Suthep Thaugsuban.

In the first lawsuit, Mr Abhisit accused Mr Jatuporn of defamation over remarks he made in January 2009 that then-prime minister Mr Abhisit had sat on a chair level with His Majesty the King during a royal audience.
