The 2 trillion baht loan bill being deliberated in the House of Representatives will sink the country deep into debt for the next 50 years, Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Thursday.
Mr Abhisit also told the House of Representatives the bill lacks necessary details about projects to be funded, to ensure transparency of spending.
More than 100 MPs, including members on the government side of the House, had registered their right to debate the bill. The opposition, for its part, would do its best to prevent the "loan storm" from hitting the public, Mr Abhisit said.
